Physical Properties of Soil and Rock Laboratory
Characteristics
Research activity:
- Determination of physical properties of natural soils for the purpose of assessing the condition of the soils in the foundation engineering.
- Determination of physical parameters of mechanically modified soils to assess the possibility of their use as earth structures.
- Multifactorial material characteristics of anthropogenic soils on the basis of studies on soil properties.
Research possibilities
- Determination of physical parameters of soil and water environment such as: Atterberg limits, grain-size distribution for cohesive and non cohesive soils, natural moisture content of soils, optimum moisture content of soils, specific density of soils, bulk density of soils, maximum density of soils.
- Conducting research on natural soil samples with intact structure and artificial soil samples, the so-called ground pastes with a known stress history.
