Physical Properties of Soil and Rock Laboratory

Characteristics

Research activity:

  1. Determination of physical properties of natural soils for the purpose of assessing the condition of the soils in the foundation engineering.
  2. Determination of physical parameters of mechanically modified soils to assess the possibility of their use as earth structures.
  3. Multifactorial material characteristics of anthropogenic soils on the basis of studies on soil properties.

Research possibilities

  1. Determination of physical parameters of soil and water environment such as: Atterberg limits, grain-size distribution for cohesive and non cohesive soils, natural moisture content of soils, optimum moisture content of soils, specific density of soils, bulk density of soils, maximum density of soils.
  2. Conducting research on natural soil samples with intact structure and artificial soil samples, the so-called ground pastes with a known stress history.
