Participation of students from the Electronic Technical Secondary School and students of the Interfaculty Scientific Club of Eco-Engineering of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in the ICA Biodiversity Challenge 2023 in the Water Park of the Water Centre
Students from class 2E of the Electronic Technical School in Warsaw and the Interfaculty Scientific Circle of Eco-Engineering of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) took part in the inventory of plant species in the Water Park of the Water Centre as part of the ICA Biodiversity Challenge 2023 (SGGW is a member of the ICA Network, which co-organises this event organised by Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands) on 19th June 2023. Students’ field activities were entitled Hazards of civilization and Sustainable Development. Participants, with the support of team specialists: dr hab. inż. Bogumiła Pawluskiewicz, prof. SGGW (Department of Environmental Improvement), dr inż. Ilona Małuszyńska (the Water Centre), and dr inż. Marcin Małuszyński (Department of Environmental Improvement), got acquainted with plant species growing in the Water Park and had the possibility to use the application (https://observation.org/pages/getting-started/) – a teaching tool used, among others, on university grounds and campuses to assess biodiversity.
