Participation of employees and PhD students of the Water Centre in 17 DECGE
The 17th Danube – European Conference on Geotechnical Engineering was held in Bucharest between the 7th – 9th of June 2023. The event was organised by the Romanian Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering,
in collaboration with the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
The Water Centre of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences was represented by: dr hab. inż. Wojciech Sas, prof. SGGW, dr inż. Katarzyna Gabryś, dr inż. Andrzej Głuchowski and mgr inż. Kamil Zając.
The main theme of the conference was European Geotechnical Engineering – Unity and Diversity. It was the 17th meeting of the Danube countries, whose aim was to disseminate local and national knowledge and practices, address both research and practical topics, and provide a discussion forum for everyone. Professor Loretta Batali, who is also the President of the Romanian Society for Geotechnical Engineering and Foundation Engineering, was the chairman of the conference. The main thematic sessions were as follows:
I. Geotechnical investigations and ground modelling.
II. Geotechnical design.
III. Geohazards.
IV. Environmental geotechnics, hydrogeology and energy.
V. Information technology in geotechnical engineering.
