Meeting of the Capital Branch of the Polish Committee on Geotechnics at the Water Centre

      The meeting of the Capital Branch of the Polish Committee on Geotechnics was held in the hybrid version: stationary (building of the Water Centre) and remote (using the Ms Teams application) on 2th March 2022. The meeting was conducted by dr hab. inż. Wojciech Sas, prof. SGGW, Director of the Water Centre and chairman of the Capital Branch of the Polish Committee on Geotechnics.

      Professor Askar Zhussupbekov from the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Nur-Sułtan in Kazakhstan which is one of the best universities in this country, attended the meeting. Profesor Zhussupbekov is also the President of the Kazakhstan Geotechnical Society. He delivered a lecture entitled ‘Geotechnical construction an testing of piling foundations on problematic soils of Kazakhstan’ The results of researches on interactions between various types of soils and pile foundations were presented. Previous experiences in the use of construction solutions in foundations (mainly piling foundations) on difficult soils and in various environmental conditions near Nur-Sułtan and Pietropawłowsk were also discussed.
